The University of Florida Human Powered Submarine Team is an undergraduate student driven organization and a part of the UF Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The team is comprised of students from various disciplines of the UF College of Engineering and the UF Warrington College of Business Administration.

The focus of the UF HPS Team is to design and construct a one person 'wet' submarine, relying on novel techniques for propulsion, and guidance. The project is motivated by the International Submarine Races at the David Taylor Model Basin in Bethesda, MD and the West Coast Invitational at the Offshore Model Basin in Escondido, CA. Both events encourage academic, corporate, and individual competition biennially.
